Located at the Main Entrance, the VEC features activities and interactive exhibits,
including our Agventureland exhibit which highlights New York State apples their journey from the farm to your table.
The Petting Zoo offers more opportunities for visitors to pet friendly barnyard animals.
Goats and rabbits are typically in the Zoo but other animals are there on certain days,
such as American Miniature Horses, lambs and piglets.
The Poultry Center is home to a wide variety of birds and includes an incubation area where visitors can observe eggs being hatched.
Learn about different breeds of chickens, ducks and turkeys and their importance in the poultry industry.
Kids love Springdale Farm’s playground, conveniently located next to the picnic pavilion.
The pavilion is also a great place to hold a family or organization gathering, with room for up to 100 people under its roof.
Springdale Farm’s pond is spring-fed and features ducks, geese and other water fowl.
It is stocked with large and small mouth bass and koi fish. In the summertime, see turtles sunning themselves on large rocks on the island.
Just past the pond, follow the path up the hill to 2.5 miles of woodland nature trails. The trails feature exhibits about native plants and
trees, tree ring counting, animal tracks, maple sugaring and the history of the Iroquois Indian Longhouse.
The livestock barn is home to a variety of farm animals like miniature horses and goats. Learn about the animals and their young as you
get a close-up view of them in their stalls. During the warm weather, animals may be moved outdoors to grazing pastures.
Farmer Joe’s Loft features agricultural exhibits and seasonal activities for young children. (Closed during winter months.)
In the pole barn and the pastures, visitors can meet the farm’s pigs, horses, American Miniature Horses,
donkeys and peacocks. In the spring, greet piglets and other newborn animals. (Animals may be moved to other areas
on the farm depending on weather.)
The greenhouse features plants that are grown by adults with developmental disabilities who attend the day program at the farm.
Plants are for sale seasonally. (Closed during winter months.)
The future of dairy farming is here. The dairy barn at Springdale Farm is home to 60 cows and calves, and features the Reidman Robotic Milking Center – a highly advanced, automatic milking system that allows the cows to milk themselves!
A laser-guided robot does the work of cleaning the teats and suctioning the milk without the farmer even needing to be there. It’s udderly amazing!*
